Legality

Firstly we must state that this is not legal advice and should be taken only as the opinion of us at Cosmic Valley Hemp and how we understand the current laws surrounding the hemp-derived cannabinoid market. Anyone searching for legal advice should contact a licensed attorney.

So the big question when it comes to cannabis products on everyones mind is, "Are these compounds legal?"   The answer is a resounding YES!  All of the compounds sold by Cosmic Valley Hemp are legal and hemp-derived.  The 2018 Agricultural Farm Bill  federally legalized all hemp and hemp-derived compounds as long as the product contains less than 0.3% delta 9 THC.  All of our products have a lab issued COA  that contains compound concentrations and ensures federal compliance.  Although these hemp-derived compounds are legal federally, there are variations in law on the state level.  Before ordering our products make sure to do your own research to ensure you are in accordance with your local laws and regulations.  These laws are frequently changing so please be sure to keep informed.

CBD (Cannabidiol)

CBD is found biologically as the 2nd most prevalent active compound in the Cannabis plant.  Through selective breeding in the industry we now have a variety of low THC/high CBD strains in the hemp industry making this compound widely available.  CBD is non-psychoactive, unlike its controversial cousin THC.  Many advocates use the compound for various reasons such as anxiety, stress, insomnia,  arthritis, chronic pain, and even addiction.   Furthermore, The New England Journal of Medicine has performed controlled studies both with humans and animals resulting in findings that CBD may have a valuable therapeutic use for epilepsy, seizures, and spasms.   There so far has been no evidence showing that CBD has any potential for adverse health reactions.  An article released by The World Health Organization went as far as to make the statement that "In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD."

Delta 8 THC:

Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as Delta 8 THC, is another one of the hundreds of cannabinoids found in Cannabis.  Unlike CBD, it is found only in very small amounts biologically and IS psychoactive.  It is estimated that Delta 8 THC has roughly half the potency of its cousin, Delta 9 THC, found in marijuana.  There is a sense of euphoria that delta 8 brings that is great for stress relief and relaxing.  Our favorite methods of consumption are either vaping or orally consuming through edibles or tinctures.  When Delta 8 THC is consumed orally your liver processes it becoming 11-Hydroxy-THC which is far more psychoactive than inhaling.  It is always good to be sure to start with very small doses when ingesting orally to know where your comfort zone is.  When using a vape the onset takes only a short few minutes but when taken orally it is delayed significantly from 30 minutes to a couple hours.

THC-O Acetate:

THC-O Acetate:  THC-O is short for Delta 8 THC-O Acetate.  It is not found in any amounts naturally in cannabis making this compound synthetic.  It is made by combining Delta 8 THC with acetalytic acid making it an acetate.  It has been called by some THC's more "psychedelic" cousin and said to be much as 3 times stronger than Delta 9 THC due to it being easily absorbed than many other cannabinoids.  When ingesting it through the gut nearly 100% is absorbed.  Some say that the effects can be quite intense and sometimes even border on psychedelic.  Always make sure to
